Mafa came to me some months back wanting to have a clean, super blonde balayage. As Mafa is of Islander descent, her hair is dense (many hair follicles per square centimetre) but each hair is fine, frizzy and very fragile. Added to this, she had had, two years earlier, a full head of back to back blonde foils over which she had put a bright red ‘Box Dye’ 6 months previous to her first visit with me. I consulted with her carefully, asking about her lifestyle, at home hair care regime and work environment. After considering all the elements and getting a feel for her hair, I concluded that I was not prepared to give her a chemical service in the near future but instead I recommended that she make an appointment to come in for a couple of ‘Bond Reconstruction’ Treatments and explained my reasoning in detail. We made the booking for her Treatment and armed with her essential care products, she left the Salon and I wondered if I would in fact see her again. But right on queue Mafa arrived for her appointment excited and confident that we had a plan. To her credit, Mafa came back for another few Treatments and refrained from any more DYI ‘Home Hair Colouring’ sessions.
After 3 months of executing our planned care factor 10, last week Mafa received her much wanted Balayage service. As you can see from the, during the process photo, Mafa’s natural regrowth is about 15 cm and her pre lightened mids and ends still show signs of red pigment staining, the most difficult colour pigment to correct. Next week I will share with you the finished result and give you insights into how I achieved it.
Have a Happy Hair Day Everyone!
Cheers for now,
Christine
